Choosing an amp
Choose an amp by where and how you play, not by watts. At home you can't turn a 50W amp past 2, and you can't take a headphone amp to band practice. Answer three or four questions and we'll show you the types and products to look at first, with reasons.
How we label · No affiliation
First Guitar has no affiliation with any brand or retailer. Specs were checked against official manufacturer sources, cited for each product. Product photos are ones each manufacturer published, credited under each photo. Logos are trademarks of their companies.
Types of amps
Unfamiliar names are fine. One card per type: what it is, who it suits, and what to watch out for.
Pick it yourself — products by type
You can also skip the questions and pick right here. Choose a type, then tap a card to add it to My set. Tap a brand to learn about the company, or "See details" for specs, pros, and things to know.
